where’s my faith?

The things of God require a lot of faith.

Without the Faith that God can perform His work through us, we are just…Performing in our own strength.

I was reading this verse:

James 1:6But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind.

Have you ever doubted like I have.

When I am not sure that I know God is behind me doing it all through me. When my focus changes from God to myself,  I am just like this verse says….

Like a wave of the sea…

I am UP and DOWN emotionally.

I am fighting in my mind and I am not settled.

that is driven ….

I feel compelled within to succeed…and not in a good way. I feel like I have to be the best. (because this depends on me) I become competitive in my heart. I wonder what I “look like” in the eyes of other people.

and tossed ….

I feel irritable and disturbed. I am confused at why things aren’t working out they way I want them to.

by the wind….

by anything that comes up against me. .. change in circumstances….people…even God.

See when we are a people who live this way. We get our eyes on ourselves and we start to think “ It’s all about me!” even if we don’t say it, even if we hide it well, if we are not living by faith, we are living by in our power and strength.

A simple turning of my thoughts to God as the one who is my strength. A remembering that He is the one guiding me. If I choose to be settled in my heart that God works through me. As I begin to get my focus off me and on Him who created me to be his instrument, my prayers start to become statements of Faith! Without Him …I’m basically praying to myself.

If we want blessings from God, nothing can fetch them down but faith. Prayer cannot draw down answers from God’s throne except it be the earnest prayer of the man who believes. Faith is the angelic messenger between the soul and the Lord Jesus in glory. -Charles Spurgeon
