I pulled out one of my frozen bread dough. I took the saran wrap off it and put it in a bowl,  covered it with a towel and set it in the sun shining through my window. In a few hours I was putting it in a bread tin and baked it!!

Day 21- day of rest

Day 22 

1. USE WHAT’S HERE:

Homemade French Vanilla creamer

  • 14oz sweetened condensed milk
  • 14oz milk (whole, lowfat, or skim – doesn’t matter)
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract OR Vanilla Coffee Syrup for a stronger flavor
  • a mason jar (quart is perfect)

I usually buy one of those fancy smancy creamers at Hyvee…. Carmel or Something. But I came upon this here recipe by way of my mother. I have to say it is pretty nice knowing what I am drinking and its just enough sweet. Rolling on the floor laughing

31 day challenge – Day 12

*USE WHAT’S HERE

1. I made a Baked Potato soup!!! soooooooooooo good!!

I cut this in half cause I have a smaller crock pot!!  

You will need:

  • 5 lbs russet potatoes, diced, NOT peeled
  • 5 tablespoons TS garlic garlic
  • 1 large yellow onion, chopped
  • 64 ounces chicken broth or stock
  • 16 ounces cream cheese
  • bacon, sour cream, chives or shredded cheese for garnish

Combine first 4 ingredients in your crock pot, cook on low for 8 hours or on high for 5. Purée soup in food processor with cream cheese. Serve warm topped with bacon, sour cream, shredded cheese & chives.

SO good I forgot to take a photo!! lol BAD ME!!

2. I am baking bread again…this time doing the recipe my mom sent me to try !

5 – cups hot water (hotter than bathwater, but not scalding)
4 – tablespoons of yeast
1 – cup oil
6 – tablespoons sugar
2 – tablespoons salt
8-10 – cups of flour

Directions

Mix all ingredients together. should be sticky. stir down from the outer part of the bowl inward every 10 minutes for 1 hour. should be covered.
put oil in bread pans. put dough in bread pans, cover & let rise for 1/2 hour. makes 4-5 loaves
bake at 375 for 30-35 minutes.
can also be used to make : cinnamon rolls, biscuits

*TIP:

This recipe makes 5 loaves …and as you

can see I only made 2. So what did I do with

the rest of the dough? My mom said to

separate  it into balls on saran wrap and put

them in a  bad and freeze. Take one out when

you want  bread ….

or use one to make cinnamon rolls!!!

or Pizza Crust…

1. I don’t know if it really fits into the categories …but I had a great idea!!

My niece Melinda is a very smart little girl. She loves to learn learn learn. Also she lives 4 hours away.

So I thought how cool would it be if I started sending her random fact postcards —-AH HA! found the category : spend less —- that I make on my computer on stock card paper as a way to be a part of her learning and ask her a question that she could write me back Open-mouthed smile 

2. Today I unplugged all unused items from the wall sockets

– SAVE ENERGY!!!

3. I turned the thermostat down 1 degree 

– SAVE ENERGY!!

4. I’m not using the lights today I’ll just open all the shades and curtains

– SAVE ENERGY!!

5. HUSBAND BOUGHT BIG CHUNK OF MEAT – HE

GROUND IT UP FOR BURGER.
